The best comprehensive text on cardiology

Having tried Mayo clinic review and Braunwald, I regret that I haven't come across this book till this point in my learning. Mayo clinic is sometimes too brief and offers little explanation, being a little bit disorganized in a couple of chapters; Braunwald is well-known as THE textbook in cardiology, but the extensive reference to literature on figures and percentages has significantly diluted the content and made the text equivocal in many places. Crawford nicely strikes a balance, being clear without being simplistic, comprehensive without being encyclopedic. The color layout with plenty of illustrations makes it even more readable. Though intended to be a textbook, I highly recommend this book for anyone preparing for the cardiology board.

Only mention of ME (CFIDS) is re orthostatic intolerance. ME patients also have reduced ejection, low blood volume, cardiomyopathy and increased cardiac disease mortality. When ME patients die of heart disease, it is, on average, at an age 25 years younger than that of the whole population of people who die of heart disease.
Exercise treadmill test to exhaustion is highly contraindicated for ME patients.

The Essential Heavy Metal Licks Encyclopedia!

For months, I have been contemplating to get this book. Finally I got the book just yesterday August 2, 2016. For years, I have been looking for a book that teaches guitar soloing. Most guitar soloing books out there made 8-10 years ago only teach you theory and technique. Those things are good, but they don't quite deliver when it comes to musicality. I went to different guitar lessons to learn guitar soloing, the teachers would end up telling me to transcribe licks. That seems to be the practical way to learn guitar soloing and improvisation, but with so many rock songs, where do I begin? Isn't life too short to transcribe an arsenal of licks? Then I had a game plan on my mind, I just need to know the essential licks, that's how I'll get started. In late 2015, I discovered this book and I end up purchasing it later.

This book contains the essential or cliché metal licks used by the metal masters in different eras. I know, because I skimmed the book and listened to all the audio. Yesterday, I only learned Lick 1a or the first lick of the book and I was already making a coherent metal guitar solo. I have composed guitar solos before, but they don't sound like rock or metal, they rather sound like a poppy ballad and it sounds very cheesy. How much more when I learned all the licks of the book? I'll be a metal head soon. I'm not your conventional metal head, because I listen to The Carpenters too. Just type my Amazon Username on Youtube and you'll see a bunch of my videos.

This book also teaches you licks beyond the book thru ear training. This book teaches you audiation as well or playing what you sing. So when I am done using this book, I can still learn more licks. The licks in the book also builds technique, the licks progress with steady difficulty. I know Fundamental Changes has more guitar soloing books. I will be getting them soon for self-study.

I highly recommend Fundamental Changes books to every budding and aspiring guitarist, a guitarist who is frustrated in their musicality, or a guitarist stuck in a rut and don't know what the hell to do.

Not Just for "Metal" playing!

This is great book on guitar playing and not just "metal" many of the techniques can be used in all forms of music its up to you to decide on the tempo the high-gain or not. so playing these licks will help all forms. Techniques of one form can be used in anther. I bought it on Kindle and had no trouble downloading the audio well thought out and explained!

Although the Buddha himself was not a philosopher in the sense that that term is often understood, a Buddhist philosophy nevertheless emerged from the Buddha's teachings that was astonishingly rich, profound and elusive. Buddhism, which for six millennia has been an integral part of South and East Asian society and civilization, is now increasingly popular in the West, where its teachings about liberation of the self from the cycle of existence have proved attractive to people from a wide variety of backgrounds. In this new and comprehensive textbook, Alexander Wynne shows that the story of Buddhism as a global system of belief begins with the life of the Buddha in northern India in the fifth century BCE. He discusses the many new advances that have been made in recent years with regard to Buddhist origins, and traces the ways that formative Indian doctrines helped shape the features of later Asian Buddhism. Carefully outlining the major Buddhist traditions, Wynne examines in turn the major Mahayana traditions of China, including the Ch'an and Pure Land schools, as well as recent trends in Theravada Buddhism, especially in Sri Lanka and Thailand, and the Tantric Buddhism of Tibet.
