Studying geology is all inclusive and so is this study guide

There’s a lot that goes into the study of geology and when it came time to take the board exam, I was nervous. I felt like I did very well on my tests, but that still didn’t guarantee that I would pass. After all, the things I learned in my very first study session were likely long gone, having been replaced by something I learned more recently. I needed to review and I needed to review very badly. The problem was, the exam was coming up fast and I didn’t know how I would organize all of the details I needed in time. That problem quickly disappeared when I found this all inclusive study guide. It had everything I needed to know for the test plus some additional material like test taking tips and even some study secrets to keep me on track. I am so glad I found this study guide in time. It really helped me review all of the little details I had forgotten. That not only helped me do well on the test, but it also started me off on the right foot going into the geology field.

About the Author

David Rieske is an industrial engineer and has worked in manufacturing in the areas of production and health and safety.  During this time, he gained valuable experience in the identification and reduction/elimination of hazards through engineering applications.  David teaches at the University of Arkansas while also working in the pharmaceutical industry.

 

Dr. C. Ray Asfahl is Emeritus Professor of Industrial Engineering at University of Arkansas. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Safety Professional. With over 35 years experience in Industrial Safety he has served as Industrial Consultant in most of the 50 states. He has served on the Standards Development Committee of the American Society of Safety Engineers. His books, in seven editions in English, are in use throughout the world. Some editions of his books have been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Korean.

Looks good on a shelf

I bought this as a text. Not bad but not the best either; you'd be better off finding a current year review of the laws as specific for the state that you are doing the work in through a professional safety publishing company. The material on the CD is a waste.

About the Author
Patti J. Marinelli has had a distinguished career teaching Spanish at the University of South Carolina. The recipient of many university awards, she also was named Teacher of the Year by the South Carolina Foreign Language Teachers' Association in 2008. She has extensive experience coordinating the introductory Spanish program and mentoring graduate teaching assistants at the university. Marinelli has authored two other Spanish textbooks, including the best-selling high beginner textbook Puentes. Both her teaching and writing are informed by her experiences as a certified ACTFL OPI tester and her expertise in standards-based instruction.

Karin Fajardo is an educational publishing professional who has authored language learning materials for over a dozen Spanish textbooks across all levels. As a native Spanish speaker who has lived in and traveled extensively throughout Spain and Latin America, her primary focus has been to generate culturally rich interdisciplinary language lessons. A great book!

A must have if you are taking online Spanish classes. I used this book in my final semester of undergrad and it was incredibly helpful. With the use of the connect online feature and the book materials you will be fully fluent in a matter of two months as long as you practice and stick to it.

This is not for students - don't buy!

About the Author
Born in Bowersville, Ohio, USA, on May 31 1898, Norman Vincent Peale grew up helping support his family by delivering newspapers, working in a grocery store, and selling pots and pans door to door, but later was to become one of the most influential clergymen in the United States during the 20th-century. Educated at Ohio Wesleyan University and Boston University, he went on to become a reporter on the Findlay, Ohio, Morning Republic prior to entering the ministry and went on to author some 40 books. Peale confessed that as a youth he had 'the worst inferiority complex of all,' and developed his positive thinking/positive confession philosophy just to help himself.
