About the Author
Elissa Tognozzi (Ph.D. Italian, UCLA) is Senior Lecturer (SOE) in the Department of Italian at UCLA. As Director of Italian Language Studies, she teaches graduate seminars in methods and in technology, coordinates the language program, and supervises the department's teaching assistants. Her upper-division courses include advanced composition, culture, opera, and theater. In addition, she is undergraduate advisor. From 2003 to 2008, she was chair of the AP Italian Development Committee. She was editor of the American Association of Teachers of Italian (AATI) newsletter and is currently the elected representative for AATI for California.
Giuseppe Cavatorta earned a Ph.D. from UCLA in 2004. His current research and scholarly interests include the writings of the Italian neo-avantgarde, Futurism, the partisan war in literature and movies, 19th-century and 20th-century Italian literature, language pedagogy, and the use of technology in teaching. Having previously taught at Dartmouth College, he is currently teaching at the University of Arizona.

This book is a good review of grammar. It is for people who have already learned it once and just need a review. Otherwise, for a beginner, it moves too quickly with too little explanation.

Workbook/lab manual for Ponti Italiano Terzo millenio (ital ed)

Am using this workbook now. Love it. Been taking italian lessons for some years and now working with a small group and teacher. Find this book extremely easy to use, good explanations in English. Am very pleased at its usefulness and good exercises. Would highly recommend.

Not a great book

I had to purchase this book for my college level Italian 3 course. I did not like this book at all. There were terms in the book that had no definitions! I still can't believe there weren't clear definitions for terms used in the book like 'avercela' and 'farcela.' Luckily for me, my professor hated the book just as much and already knew just how horrible it was. She knew that she'd have to spend extra time defining terms that should have been defined in the book. The book does not have an answer key. Of course we would correct our homework in class, but I like to use answer keys see if I'm doing my work correctly. I also use the answer key as a point of reference when I'm studying. Overall, I'm not pleased with the book.
